Implant Retained Lower Denture

Joseph came to me with ill fitting, uncomfortable upper and lower full dentures. The first step involved replacing the poorly made dentures with good fitting, properly fabricated dentures. Many times, once this is accomplished, the patient is happy and is able to function properly without pain.

To supplement retention, particularly on the lower denture, patients use fixodent. In this case, Joseph indicated that he would like implants to help retain the lower prosthesis (denture).

Following a computer augmented tomograph (CAT scan) and analysis with special software (www.materialise.com) a treatment plan was devised. The simplelest and least expensive way to utilize implants in the lower arch is to place two implants (www.straumann.us) and have them retain the denture with attachments (www.zestanchors.com). The lower denture was fabricated with the replaceable attchments (accudent@hotmail.com). Jospeh was very happy with the result.
